ABOUT
Andrew Harper is a freelance sound designer for theatre, opera, ballet, and events. He is the sound designer for Houston’s Theatre Under the Stars, having designed over fifty musicals with them since 2013, Andrew has designed sound for many productions with Houston Grand Opera (including five world premieres), Washington National Opera/Kennedy Center, New York City Opera, Glimmerglass Opera, Lyric Opera Kansas City, Atlanta Opera, San Antonio Opera, El Paso Opera, and Houston Ballet, among others. In summer 2021, he designed the outdoor sound system and all six productions on it for the Glimmerglass on the Grass Festival in New York, including The Magic Flute, Songbird, Il Trovatore, and The Passion of Mary Cardwell Dawson. In the 2025-2026 season, Andrew will design American Psycho with Houston Broadway Theatre, Francesca Zambello's production of West Side Story at Los Angeles Opera and Washington National Opera at the Kennedy Center, Houston Grand Opera's 50th season opening Porgy and Bess, Guys and Dolls at Shakespeare Theatre in Washington D.C, and Silent Night at Houston Grand Opera, among others.
